This design that I have, I have built and made almost perfect. It is a 3 sided pyramid that mounts perectly in the corner of any 90 deg. room. It has no opposin sides so no standing wave are created and no fill is needed. The corner of a room acts almost like a megaphone and an increased spl is created. I can make any size and any application. If you want pics of this design let me know. I want to get it out to the publc. The patent was already done but it has expired. I have perfected this design. If you ever go into a bar where is the place that they mount speakers. In the corner. It is perfect for true surround sound, even for 5.1 home theatre. Let me know what you think. Questions please.

My father is the person behind the idea but as years past and with the help of technology it has been highly improved from the patented desgin. And with bass box pro and x-over pro and daytons woofer tester, it has become much easier to improve on it and any cabinet design.

So what about the Center channel? I guess you could just put this pyramid in the middle of the room?
How much does it cost?
Much much bass output?

I've seen them before; never heard them though. I'd be interested in seeing info on the new design.

I am under the impression that room standing waves or modes, if this is what you are talking about, depends on speaker location and the wavelengths of the frequency, room dimensions, not how many sides or the shape of the speaker cabinet. But, I could be wrong.

Im sure you already know this but someone has already been there done that. Do Klipschorns ring a bell? They are corner speakers that have been produced practically since the birth of hifi.

Yes, but even they have two short sides that are parallel, no? If I remember correctly, they are not totally triangle shaped, plus, the top and bottoms are also parallel.
What I understand his speakers to be a pyramid with 3 sides and a base, so no sides are parallel but then the sound waves are interacting with the room sides that are parallel. :D

That's what I thought too, as acoustician's say that irregular shaped rooms don't prevent standing waves, they just make their distribution harder to predict. But, again, I may be wrong, it's happened before.
