Connecting HD inputs To An Older Receiver and HDTV

Ok I’m enough caught up on my other hobbies that it’s about time to plan out the installation of Toshiba HD-A2. Here is my current setup… a Panasonic 47" HD CRT RP TV, a Pioneer VSX-1014 receiver, a DV-563 DVD/SACD/DVD-A, and a DTV HR20 satellite receiver. The 1014 only does component video (no HDMI) and the TV is limited to component video and DVI. I can’t replace the TV or receiver right now and besides I like them. Everything is controlled by a Harmony 800.

I’d like to keep my DV-563 on its current component video input to take advantage of the 5.1 analog inputs required for SACD. I’m assuming then that my best bet is just to go component video and optical from the HR20 and the HD-A2 DVD player to my Impact Acoustics switch (currently sitting in the box) and from there into the Pioneer receiver. My alternate courses of action would be to move the 563 over to an S-Video input but I’m not wild about that idea, or put all three devices on the switch and still use the existing analog connection to the 563 when required.

Am I missing anything? Does anybody know if the Harmony remote will cleanly handle the Impact Acoustics switching? Ideas? Suggestions?

Yes, that is about it. Use component from the A2. If your receiver does DD 5.1, then just use a digital audio out from the A2 to the receiver, otherwise, use that 5.1 analog out, the switchbox then the receiver.
