I remember how many folks at this site were shocked and saddened when M&K, the storied speaker manufacturer closed their doors a bit back, well the good news is they are back!

Longtime M&K Sound distributors Per Becher and Asger Bak will head the new management team, effective October first M&K will officially return to U.S. operation with Audio Industry veteran expert Chris Minto in the role of VP and managing director.

Put under creditor jurisdiction last February, Becher and Bak acquired M&K's intellectual property, brand name, trademarks and web sites. Minto was formerly with the old M&K for seven years as the company's professional division director. Minto's goal for the "new" company is based on a two prong attack, first to have outstanding customer service and second to maintain and improve the quality that M&K has always been known for. He says "Those classic M&K products that our customers know and love will be kept on, and those products that are not to our standards will be dropped in favor of new and better products. We intend to provide the best possible listening experience to the audio professional and to the home theater enthusiast alike."

Other past M&K alumni returning to the fold are design engineer Chris Hagen and electrical engineer Jordan Arnos, both familiar with the original company's attention to detail and quality. Hagen will also be in charge of the service department. This is all great news, for a company to be reformed, put people back to work and provide products for the enthusiast and pros, welcome back M&K, much success.

That's good news!
I hope they'll be able to move the company forward and not rely on the old designs.
