Ok, here's the problem. I have a Velo DPS 12 that I've been very happy with. I share a small semi-detached with my girlfriend, but since we're both students, we decided to put the basement up for rent.
That means, my setup has been moved up to one of the empty bedrooms. Before the move, you could feel the bass shake your innards and the foundation when it was on the main floor. Now, it's lost its swagger. Turning up the sub makes it boomy as well. I've moved the sub around and even in the best positions, it's not going down deep enough like it was downstairs. The bedroom is fully carpeted, while downstairs had hardwood floors. So I don't know how much of an effect that has. What can I do? Money is tight since I'm a grad student so I can't afford to spend thousands on room treatment.
