I have installed three of the new Mitsubishi 73" sets so far and they are beautiful! I would take one if I could fit it in my living room. I have a Mits projector and a 73" DIY screen but I can't really use that during the day.

RPTV's I cant stand. I always see the screen on them and it looks awful. Front projection DLP is a whole different story though. Very smooth and none of that grainy plastic screen effect.

Greg,

If your wife doesn't want to ceiling mount the pj, have you considered and can you possibly table or shelf mount it behind you? Big screens really are sweet;)
Maybe JGarcia doesn't like DLP because he is rainbow sensitive...not to put words in his mouth, but that is a common complaint among folks that don't like it.

That would be it exactly. It doesn't matter if it is RP or FP, I can see it and it is very annoying. Some don't seem to notice it, but I haven't seen one that I don't see it on to some extent.

I dont know if this is the case for everyone but when we first got our DLP projector I could see rainbows very easily, without even trying to look for them. Ive gotten to the point now though where I have a hard time seeing them even when im looking.

I have never even seen "rainbows" on my Mitsubishi so I wouldn't even know what to look for.

Good, then we won't tell you either. Once I noticed it, it became extremely distracting and it was tough not to notice it after that.

I dont think that would work in our situation. There is no wall behind us; just an open kitchen so I have no idea where we could put it or run the wires.

I noticed rainbows only a couple times on my Mitsubishi HD1000 projector but I have not seen any since and they really didn't bother me when I did see them. I have never seen rainbows on any rear projection set.
