So are DLP's out? I was at my dealers yesterday and I told him the wife isnt really going for the PJ thing and he showed me the The Mitsubishi 73-inch 833Diamond 1080p DLP with HDMI 1.3. I think I could live with this size but I have never even considered a DLP. Should I even consider this?

If I get it; I will have a DLP, a plasma and a LCD. That pretty much covers all the bases

Has she seen the size of 73" DLP vs. the discreteness of a Pj with a retractable screen? It's hard to believe that a monster TV has more WAF.

Okay, you buy that 73" MIT Diamond Series, and I'm officially jealous!
I've been trying to convince my wife to move my 62" Mitsubishi DLP to our master bedroom so that I can buy that 73" MIT DS for my HT, but she won't go for it

I don't think you can beat the contrast, brightness, and clarity of that MIT!

I don't have Plasma or LCD either

She is ok with the size; she hasnt seen the depth yet so that remains to be seen. Mounting the PJ is her biggest issue. She doesnt want anything coming down from the ceiling and she doesnt want to move her "special" ceiling fan.

Has she seen the size of 73" DLP vs. the discreteness of a Pj with a retractable screen? It's hard to believe that a monster TV has more WAF.

I am about 11.5 feet away so I think it would be big enough. I will continue to push the PJ but this looks like a good back up plan.

I agree.... my 50" Panny Plasma seems small to me as well... but I ran out of money at the time of purchase, 15 ft away...

Also I was waiting for further improvements to HDMI & 1080p before I pulled the trigger on something of the 70" caliber... Those prices are out of this world rediculus to me right now...

But I will be getting a larger Plasma in the future just to offset the fact that my Center Channel is almost the same width of my TV... I got plenty of cr@p from the forum guys about that.... hhehhehehe

I was using a SharpVision LCD projector + DaLite 100" screen from 1995-2006 (until the bulb died). This thing retailed for $10K, back in 1995. It had 4,000-lumens brightness. It was very bright. It was brighter than any projector (1080p Hi-Def Pj included) I have ever seen. But I don't think there is ANY projector out there that can outperform a Mitsubishi Diamond Series in terms of Contrast, Brightness, and Sharpness.

My SharpVision PJ is subsequently still sitting in my closet

So unless MIT makes a bigger TV, the 73" DS MIT will be my next purchase
