So considering that the MPS-1 has modular mono blocks could I buy two extras and bi-amp my mains off of them (I am just planning on running 3 channels with it so it will have 4 more available)

You're talking about passive bi-amping? So you're going to use a Y-cable and split one-Left into two-Lefts and one-Right into two-Rights? Which Y-cables are you looking at? Blue Jeans Cable?

I'm "Tri-amping" my main L/R and "Quad-amping" my Center:D
How's that possible?
Well, for my Mains, that's one amp for the internal subwoofer, one amp for the tweeters, and one amp for the midrange/bass:)
For my Center, that's one amp for the internal sub, one amp for the tweeter, and one amp for each midrange/bass drivers:D

Sure you can do that, but what do you hope to gain?

Just for coolness, right?:D
Just use another wire and braid the three wires! What an idea! Who needs Kimber Kable to braid the wires? Forget the fish-net. Go braids. You can do, man!

It will give you a LOT more headroom, but it isn't going to change the sound dramatically IMO. I've done this with two separate amps before and while I could crank the heck out of it and still have all that clarity, I didn't really need to listen at ear blistering levels. A buddy of mine recently lent me a massive amp to try on my mains. This thing is ridiculously powerful and weighed 52lbs...that is 10 more than my receiver for just 2 channels! It added noticeable width to my soundstage and definitely added clarity at very elevated levels; everything sounded a bit more effortless. Did it sound night and day different from the amps I have? Not enough to justify me buying something like that.

Yes, each module has its own power supply. When are you supposed to get it?

Emotiva still says "they are on the water". They say the MPS will be there anyday now but their wesite still has 9/1 for the stock date. I probably wont add the 2 channels for bi-amping but just thought I would check to see if I could.

You know I am all about the "cool" but I think this actually does something.

I hate waiting on stuff. The money is available, my new wires are done with the new bananas, my paradigms will get out of the hospital this week but no amp yet!

What ever happened to the acoustics you were planning on doing? You just give up on that one?

Yeah, I love those locking bananas! I'm just too lazy to install them on every wire, though:)
I would have to install 44 bananas!!! That makes me tired just thinking about it:)

I just have to do 20 unless I counted wrong.
