Help with Budget Subwoofer

So I went ahead and ordered the Mordaunt-short Premiere system:

For $249 I figured even if I don't like them, who cares. I also have a set of Magenpan MMG-W's on the way to give those a try as well. They'll be hooked up to an Emotiva LMC-1/LPA-1 combo.

Both the MS and Maggies are going to need a subwoofer so I'm looking for one on budget as I don't need Earth-shaking bass. I've found a few such as:

I've heard some good things about the Dayton. An additional note, I'm looking at 10" max as I've heard it gets boomy when you go larger. Any thoughts on these models or any others that might mix well with MS and/or Maggies would be appreciated. Thanks!

By no means does it get boomy when you go larger, that is completely false. My 15" is great with music. It is the overall DESIGN that is critical. What is the max budget? At $199, I'd look a the Onix X-sub, which is only an 8" sub, but if your budget can go to the $400-500 range, your choices begin to open up quite a bit.

That is incorrect. What you say is true only if you buy cheap junk.

If you buy quality...... larger/heavier subwoofers correlate with higher performance without the boom.

Fair enough about the boomy sound. I looked at the x on av123 and they're backordered till September. But that's pretty much the budget I'm looking at. The Dayton subs seem attractive for the money.
