6.5" drivers vs 4.5".

They also go down to 52hz vs 80

Cost less.

I think the others may mount on the wall nicer. Will those bookshelves you are recommending match/blend as well as the vrx?

IMO, they will be better. I have no use for a 4.5" driver.

I looked for the VRB's, but can't find them. They would be the best.

I have the VRX surrounds, but I've only used them with a sub woofer. I find them an excellent match for the VR3s. Truth be told, by the time you get around to doing the whole home theater thing you will be looking for a sub to go with your system. Remember your center isn't going much lower than the VRXs. What get's tricky is placement. The VRXs work best for me because I don't have a lot of room (4ft) behind my seating position and with the surrounds on my left and right the design of the VRX works to fill the space behind me as well as to my left and right.

My advice is to get the VRC and the two VR3s and chill for a bit. Get to know your new toys and enjoy them. Then sit down and figure out speaker placement for your surrounds. That will go a long way to helping you decide what's best for your situation. Besides you're in a wood floor apt with no good way to run cables right now.

Ya know, the only bad thing about our hobby is it's an addiction and it's so easy for us to get hyper excited and blow the college/rent/food money on gear. :D

I've got my couch pushed to the back of the wall but could move it up if need be. I like being far from the TV.

someone already snached up those surrounds.....i guess I'll need to move more quickly next time.

Will do...I was rocking the VRC with the VR2s a bit yesterday and the Onkyo really makes them scream. I'm ordering the VR3s and will let you know of the upgrade.

Just placed the order for the VR3s $279 a piece on one****. Also picked up a monster 850 18ft shielded sub cable retail $99 for $40. Circuit city will get their VR2s back soon.

Awsome, let us know how you like them.
I'm not a guy that even envisions spending 50K on his stereo but to my ears the VR2s are awesome speakers -- especially at the price I've found. I can't wait to see how the VR3s sound.

Keeping in mind two VR3 as fronts and a VRC...

If the price was the same between a VRX and a VR3, which one is better as a surround speaker?

I'm thinking that I might buy the VRX; but then add $$ for a pedestal and you could end up paying the same or more than a VR3.

Wouldn't four VR3 create a better movie sounding experience?

Thanks!

Let me add more questions..
1) Wouldn't four VR3 create a better movie sounding experience?
2) Which one is better, VRC or VR10? And the VR10 compared to VR12?
3) Is the VR10/VR12 timbre matched to the VR3?
4) How would you set up a 7.1 using VR3 as fronts? Which speaker models would you add?
