If the connections to the speakers are all solid with no stray strands touching each other or the metal part of the receiver chassis then there is no audible difference between bare wire, pins, spades or banana plugs.
Banana plugs are the most convenient as they make it easy to connect and disconnect. There are lots of different types of banana plugs - some you crimp, some you have to solder, some with a tiny little set screw, etc. The Monster QuickLock are a nice design that requires no tools and should make a nice tight connection. When I replace my speakers in the near future, I am going to try the Monster QuickLock.
