I recently mounted a 37" flat panel on the wall in my bedroom and would like
to mount the Cable box either vertically behind the flat panel out of sight by attacjhing to the flat panel itself (box weighs 7 lbs.) or hang it below
the flat panel. Does anyone know of a mount to use in conjunction with flat panels so as to be able to give it a nice finished look without seeing any power cords and wiring.

Maybe, if you are a woodworker, you can make something nice? 7 lb is not much to hang. Otherwise, not sure.

I don't really have a good answer for the question either but have you looked at a lot of different plasma mounts? Places like http://www.racksandstands.com and http://www.standsandmounts.com have quite a few.

I know that the normal TV mounts you use to hang a TV from the ceiling often have holes in the base where you can hang a companion shelf to hold a cable box (my sister has one like that). There has got to be a plasma mount that has the same kind of capability and if you can't find one you might have to look for an alternative mount that maybe wasn't designed specifically for a plasma but would work just as well.
