Need help! old solder on spkr terminals

Help for a newbie needed. Prior owner of these speakers left lots of gunk(solder) on terminal posts. How do I remove old solder to receive new, updated wiring? What tools, if any, besides my iron and new solder do I need?

Solder braid

Get some solder braid from Radio Shack. It is a copper mesh that will "soak up" the old solder.

Just don't use bare fingers, it could get hot in a hurry
