Hi there all

This might sound daft! If I hooked up another pair of speakers to my amp, will the 2 pairs of speakers sound louder? Also are there any drawbacks, tips etc? This is for audio playack

I have moved into a new place which has a large room that is begging for it to be filled with sound.

Any help would be most welcome. Thanks for your time.

Yes it will be louder, but it will also draw more current which may be a problem depending on the receiver. If it is a multichannel receiver, you can hook the second set as surrounds and use the "all channel stereo" mode to play the same thing from both sets.

If you mean parallel two speakers on the same amp terminal, you will half the speakers impedance and tax the amp, perhaps beyond its limits?

If you need more volume, use better speakers and more powerful amps, perhaps. And, use a sub, or two?
