Actually that is a M1117 Armored Security Vehicle(ASV) used by the MP's. It's like driving a monster truck, nothing like getting a 15ton vehicle airborne, suspension soaks up the landings really well. It has a 50 cal machine gun and a MK 19 automatic grenade launcher for firepower.

Hell no, everyone is too chicken to come down to our FOB, we just get hit too often....large groups of people+mortars=bad things. Kid Rock came down during New Years and served chow, that's it.

Actually you could consider Beast as another layer of "reactive armor". One that really bites.

I've had people ask me if I dyed her head that color....seriously.

Here is another one I uploaded. She gets up on that tent during the day and just sits and watches people go by. Of course every time I try and get a picture of her she hears me and stands up.

It was sad read today that she passed away. I know she was Matt's faithful companion and partner on a couple deployments.
