I think those cube speakers are perfectly placed in that corner. Should really help the bass.

you guys wanna see my ^%&(* as well? :)

I made a bed table for my "future" laptop ... it can double as a meal table when I'm sick or simply for breakfast in bed. but I'm only using it as a normal table right now ...

Love the rack -- very pro job (nice panel too -- I've got two Samsungs and I love them). I really like the stand too, is that polished bamboo accents at the bottom?

yup ... I had that tv stand custom made to match my bed and side tables. it cost me a lot of money because I was expecting to put a 34" CRT tv on it (weight concerns)

the samsung panel I feel is good bang for the buck compared to my sony panel.

thanks for the comments chukker!

Hi Mike,

congrats on your new purchase!
BTW, you know, handy men are top ranked by the opposite sex, specially after getting married, so you're in the right way though...

Regarding to the outboard amp., my first option was also the A500. I had a credit at Sam Ash, but they don't carry this specific model, so I ended up grabbing the Samson Servo 300, which is also owesome!
The only (-) I saw, when compared to the A500, is the lack of XLR ports (which in fact I'll never use anyway...).

No humming, buzzing, just plain and good sound all the way thru the L/R mains now, with much more dynamics then before. No regrets at all!

As a side note, why don't you start producing/selling racks to the AV community? You could become a rich man pretty soon!

Cheers.

thanks avliner, my brother designed the bed-laptop table ... I designed the audio rack, but there are so many things wrong with that, I actually want a do over. even my brother has lots of ready designs waiting for me to need another audio rack. but we only design these things so that we can save a buck or two ... well compared to Bell'O racks, a lot of money!

I was never handy nor was I good in those home economics projects. when I build something it's always sub par aesthetics. :D

anyway, I built me a speaker box for an extra pair of car speakers, I wanted to try the 4ohm speakers with the behringer a500, I even bridged the a500 on the 4ohm speakers. with about half an hour of listening, the a500 was only warm to the touch. perhaps, running the a500 bridged on an efficient 4ohm speaker would still be ok, as long as you don't blast it.

don't know about the Behringer, but according to my Samson's manual, it's written in bold letters that you must never use the amp. in bridged mode, with speaker loads of 4 Ohms or less, which can result in severe damage, thus voiding the warranty!!

The right way - in my case - is to set the mode in STEREO for 4 Ohm loads.
To be in the safe side, you better cross-check that out, just in case...

In other hand, you're right; I mean, unless you're listening at ear-bleeding levels, you gonna be fine. My AVR runs much better now, with the advent of the new family member (kinda turbo charger for the engine).

Have heard that the only thing that can screw up the SAMSON amp. is the DALI (LA) speakers, though:) :) :) .

Enjoy your new baby!

Cheers.

avliner, you're right, the behringer also specifically states that we should not use 4 ohm speakers when bridged.

I just wanted to see more of the "clipping" lights and also check if it will shut down or see how hot it gets when used bridged to 4 ohms.
listened to the amp again last night, this time with 4ohm speakers in stereo mode. there was a buzz you could hear from the speakers when your ears are about 3" away. I used some 1/4" TRS to RCA adapters and the buzz was no longer audible at 3" but only when you stick your ear to the speaker grills. but take note that the speakers i'm using are car speakers that I put in boxes. I'm gonna use them in the control room of my pipe-in music project.

That's what I thought... anyway Mike, are you enjoying your new amp?

Tell you what, never heard before my speakers sounding so sweet, with plenty of dynamics all around. Really amazing, IMO.
Enjoy your new project; you deserve it though.

Cheers.
