New TV - Looking for Suggestions

I am in need of a new TV for the bedroom as my 42" Panny plasma died. I've done some preliminary homework and what I am seeing is a lot of TV's are coming with only 60 hz refresh rate. I am a big sports fan so I am concerned about the lag. I have a feeling the 60 hz refresh rate is just more affordable to make.

Costco seems to have a decent amount of TV's, but mostly in the larger sizes. I do like the Sony Bravia's but can't really fine any locally in the size I am looking for, budget and refresh rate. One thing I need to mention I am PWM sensitive so I want to try and find a TV that I won't have any issues with that. I want to be under 1K if possible as a price range and size "55 or less.

55" and high quality under $1k should be extremely easy to do. I picked up a mini LED 4K for $600, 144Hz refresh and it looks great. Blacks are nearly as good as OLED, but you can get a small amount of local blooming as it is still LED. Lag I don't think is really as big of an issue these days, but you should shoot for something higher than 60Hz. PWM, I think you'll have to go to a store and see if a particular TV or brand has the issue. OLED might be better in that regard, but they still have it.

I bought the new Sony RGB 9 II 75 inch replaced my Sony 77 inch OLED Bravia .To my eyes OLED 77 incher a better TV. My SONY BRAViA 77 inch OLED is on sale $1300 bought in 2024.

Thanks for the link, for I too am contemplating a new TV(50-55"). Also notice the majority of sub $500 sets are all 60hz re-fresh. Gotta go look more closely to see if that is 'really' an issue

Don't buy cheap TVs, you will regret it and soon. Investing in quality is cheapest in the long run.
