I Just set this new av20 up. I ordered new amps for the surround channels Starke sound. Rear sub amps made by speaker power 4000 watt and 1200 watt.
I have 4 problems that have changed since i changed to the av20 from the integra drx 8.4.

1 I now have a 25-30 db high pitch noise from the speakers. I did not have this with the integra. I think it's a ground noise, but I have already installed a ground wire from the av20 to the anthem amp that powers the front speakers. I do not have it linked to the Starke sound 8 channel amp.

2 Turn on pop from all speakers when the av20 turns on. I also did not have that with the integra avr.

3 Using audessey x pc software. After i get done with the tune and send the update to the av20 when i go back into the tune it has turned on dynamic volume and i had it turned off. This is a theater room not a living room.

4 After audessey scanned the room with 8 positions. I knew that audessey turns bass down so i switched sub auto leveling off. Still lacked bass big time. Room has 5 15's room size 14x16 with the integra i had dirac live set with tons of pressure for impact and now i had like zero so i opened up audessey again. under the subs i added a shelf right at 20 hz bumped it 5db with a pretty wide group hitting 70 hurts still gets a 1 db bump. yes i got some bass back but i wonder if i did it correct. Should i have made the shelf narrow around 20hz and turned up the gains like 3 db?

5 Under target curve it lets u click flat and ref at the same time. why would u want to click both at once? Im using ref on all the speakers. The whole front is set large down to 20hz coming out of the center and towers.???

6 When i go to heos it sets it to the front towers with zero sub in stereo. How do i get the av20 to do stereo with subs??

Thank u guys for any help on these problems. I'm sure over the next couple days with everyone's help I will get all of these fixed. The av20 with all of these problems right now still sounds better than the integra. The detail is next level, My towers have come alive.

I doubt the high pitched noise is a ground loop. Anyhow, if you disconnect all inputs to the AV 20 do you still hear the high pitched noise? If you do it is not a ground loop. In any event ground loops are not high pitched.

RF from light dimmers and LED lights can certainly cause the problem you are talking about.

I have no issue like this with my AV 10, which has so far worked flawlessly and giving phenomenal results.

Let us get the noise issue sorted first, as your AV 20 should be a absolutely dead silent as my AV 10.

With my AV 10 and Quad amps, the room is just as silent whether the rig is on or off. The AV 10 is the first pre/pro of comparable quality to the rest of my system. All the others fell somewhat short.

Tomorrow I will start pulling xlr cables. I used 2 brands. I had the top of the line monster xlr over $100 each cable for the front three speakers. When I got the av20 I knew I needed more but was not spending that kinda money for like 12 more. So I switch to Gotham cable xlr.. Can I pull one at a time or do I need to just pull them all and turn the amps on?
So I have 5 total amps on 5 breakers. I did 7 runs to this room when I built it. 5 on 10ga 2 on 12. The light switch is on a 12 ga line in my ceiling soffit I built in the back of the room. Used a lutron switch wireless to outside of the room next to the door.
Amps are
Anthem 5 channel
Starke sound 8 channel
Psa plate for 2 15's front sub
Speaker power plate 4000 watt for 2 15's left rear.
Speaker power plate 1200 watt to 1 15 right side.
All amps using shielded upgraded power cables 12ga.

Make sure you put the cables in conduit.

Ground loop related noise shouldn't be of the high pitch type so it is something else

but I have already installed a ground wire from the av20 to the anthem amp that powers the front speakers. I do not have it linked to the Starke sound 8 channel amp.
Such a connection rarely (it might in isolated cases) solve ground loop issues, I would disconnect it to avoid potentially complicating things.

My suggestion is, do a factory reset and see what happens.

Building the room is done. The cables were ran inside the walls so no conduit needed.
Wrong! You NEVER place a cable in a wall that is not in conduit. If the cable fails, which they are prone to do, then replacing the cable is a real hassle.

This is how you install in wall cables.

That is the proper way to do it. We have so many members now making the mistake of running in wall cables without conduit and really regretting it.
