I think I'm cured.
Two weeks and not one post. That's kind of a victory. It's been two years since I disassembled my "ManTown" system and I still haven't put it back together in its new home. This audio thing had been my latest addiction for the last 20 years or so. That's a crazy long time.
It's safe to say that the hobby has kept me out of trouble by tieing up my free time. I mean what else would I have done? And it has been a lot of free time. We have lived in a condo so no yard work or snow shoveling to keep me busy.
Now I find myself pondering Atmos. I feel like I need to make a statement ... like one final system that stands for all the effort two decades worth of passion amounts to. Not that I have the time and/or energy for such trivialities but ... I still appreciate good audio. And I believe the rec'r I got from adk/Craig will support it. It sort of amazes me that I don't know only that, I don't even know the model number. I use to remember what model rec'r everybody else had. It's an
X7200W What I do remember about it is that it made like #5 or something on PENG's most powerful rec'rs list. Pretty cool.
I had to go look it up. Then I had to go check out the room it would trick out. You know what I have to do? Another brake job. This time on my car, the rears, with the e-brake. But yeah ... Atmos. (Homer drool).
This residence can be marked Safe from Atmos for the foreseeable future.
Fine, then stereo it is but brakes and a bathroom renovation need attention too.
Nice chatting.
EDIT: Okay, maybe cured is too generous a word seeing as how I'm popping ceiling tiles trying to decide on various configurations. Overhead is good enough for rear surround, right? But I have kitchen cabinets to hang.
EDIT II: I also need a hair cut.
