Wow. So now you've blown a total of 2 different speakers in the last few years?
I've owned many speakers in the last 30+ years, and I've never blown a single speaker.
So you might just get a speaker that offers unconditional repairs.
No, two speakers; one that I listened to, enjoyably and without problems, for twenty years; Have any of your speaker systems been in continuous use for 20 year, or longer? blew.
and another that Polk agrees is covered under warranty have distortion issues/blew.
...as noted those birds are flown and the is no sense in belaboring an expired equine...
Just for user interest I asked for the cost of one of polk's 6.5" mid-range drivers, if it wasn't covered by warranty and they said $65.... surprisingly reasonable, IMO. (other than the "turbine cone (the speaker motor is nearly identical with one of the mids that I have in stock, for potential builds.
In the roughly 60 years that I have spend dealing with home audio I may have contributed to 2 drivers' failure; ...Honestly.
This will be the first warranty repair that I have ever participated in...
Enjoy!
