No, just no. Auro-3D 10.1(5.1.5) and Dolby Atmos 11.1(7.1.4) processing and speaker configurations are not compatible in a single speaker configuration. Though, the AV7702mkII features a compromised speaker configuration for both Auro -3D and Dolby Atmos.
Optimized for Auro-3D 10.1(5.1.5):
Optimized for Dolby Atmos 11.1(7.1.4)
Compromised configuration for Auro-3D and Dolby Atmos:
If one is interested in an optimal speaker configuration for each of the formats, it can be done if one does not mind changing speaker configuration settings when switching from Auro-3D processing to Dolby Atmos processing.
If one already has an optimal Dolby Atmos 11.1(7.1.4) speaker configuration and amplification, five more speakers and an additional five channels of amplification will be needed for optimal Auro-3D processing.
The Height 1, Height 2 and Subwoofer 1(If using two Subwoofers) Pre Outs will need Y adapters connected to them. Lets assign Dolby Atmos to the Left side of the Y adapters and Auro-3D to the Right side. The additional amplification will be used to connect to the Right side of the Height 1 and Height 2 Y adapters for the Auro-3D Front Height and Surround Height speakers.
The Subwoofer 2 Pre Out will be used for the Top Surround(Voice of God) speaker when the AV7702mkII is configured for Auro-3D 10.1(5.1.5.) This is the reason for the need of a Y adapter for the Subwoofer 1 Pre Out when using two Subwoofers. The amps powering the five overhead Auro-3D speakers must never be powered on when switching the speaker configuration settings in the AV7702mkII back to the optimal Dolby Atmos speaker configuration settings or the Top Surround(Voice of God) speaker will receive the LFE signal and be obliterated.
Of course, Dolby Atmos signals cannot be processed with anything but the Dolby Atmos decoder and Dolby Atmos will have to be turned OFF in an Apple TV 4K to use the Auro-3D up mixer when playing Dolby Atmos tracks. A blu-ray player must be set to decode signals and output them as multichannel PCM when playing Dolby Atmos tracks to use the Auro-3D up mixer as well.
It is a lot to do for experimentation of the two formats but is the only way to do it here for the optimal performance of each of them. Try not to blow it all up or the flames will be real.
