The DV-563a is hooked up to a Marantz SR 6013 receiver with Analog Cables. It uses a 5.1 Surround Sound System with a Klipsch Subwoofer.

The unit works fine with DVD Audio Discs and SACD Multichannel Disks. Only SACD 2 channel discs have the issue of no bass.

Any links that I have found for Firmware Upgrades are all dead links.

Additionally, it does not appear possible to update the settings on this unit. When trying to use the Menus on the front panel to update settings the word “GUI” is displayed. The menu display stops at that point.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

That player has to be plugged into a tv/monitor to make settings menu changes....obviously it needs adjusted.

If you're using bass management in the player via analog connections, adjustments would be needed inside the player..

If the analog cables from the player’s 5.1 analog ports are connected to the 7.1CH IN ports of the 6013, two channel tracks will not have low range signals sent to a subwoofer. The 7.1 CH IN ports are isolated from bass management. The 2CH analog ports would also need to be connected to the 6013 using any of its 2CH analog input ports for 2CH discs.

The optical port on the player does not work with SACD so that is not an option here. A newer universal player will support SACD’s DSD signal and DVD-Audio’s multichannel PCM signal over HDMI.
