;) ah yes, Canadian whisky for my Manhattan's and too many good Scottish whisky's to name for 'sipping' !

While touring Scotland back in '17 I was tempted to buy this at the Glenlivet distillery.......

but I didn't have the 35,000 pound(40k US at the time) handy ! at the time one of only 5 bottles in the world remaining. After 50 years I can only imagine what the 'Angles Take' must have been !
Wow. If I had to guess. Angels take might be 60%. Might be worth a trip to heaven to taste that 50 year. I’m 50, and I’m definitely not getting better with age.
40k…I’ll have to use my imagination. Or come to PA for a visit lol. (I know you didn’t buy it, I’m kidding of course)

I am so tempted to buy one now they are on black Friday special!
I ordered the wiim amp. One of those impulse buys because I don't really need it. I justified it out of frustration of amps that are 2.1, but have no variable crossover for the sub.

The Fosi BT30D Pro amp I am currently using in my bedroom has the TPA3255 amp chip like the WiiM does, so I don't really expect any noticeable SQ differences. To be honest, the Bluetooth from my phone/spotify to the Fosi has been without issue. So basically, I got the wiim for the app that comes with it.

You're right, a 'wee bit' rich for my blood ! But what I did buy while over there was a single cask bottling of a 16 year Oban at their distillery. It was only offered for sale at the distillery and no where else in the world. Regular Oban whisky is 14 year.

If you ever do come to Pa, while I can't offer you a 50 year dram, I can assure you, you won't go thirsty !

Speaking of 50 year whisky, on the same trip back in '17, a 50 year cask of whisky at the Tomatin distillery.....

our tour guide valued the cask to be worth 3 million pounds at the time !

They have something similar at the Glenora Distillery on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. The two times that I visited the distillery, they had a cask in the shop and you could grab a 125 ml (4.23oz) bottle off of the shelf and pour yourself a bottle straight from the cask. I bought a 19 year old whisky the first time and they had an 18 year old cask the second time. I couldn't quite afford a 750ml bottle but the 125ml lets you buy a good size sample without breaking the piggy bank. It still remains one of the best whiskies that I've purchased.

They claim to be the oldest single malt whisky distillery in North America. I haven't tried their peated whisky yet but those tend not to be my favorites anyway. Their 10 and 12 year are decent and typical for that price range but when you get to the 14 year and older the products really start to shine. I brought back a bottle of the 21 year old for a friend and it was fabulous.

If you have not been to Cape Breton the drive along the Cabot Trail has spectacular views and there are great hiking trails all along the route, from easy (Skyview) to difficult (Acadia). The Glenora Distillery offers tours and has a good restaurant. You can stay at the inn on the main grounds and they also have 4 or 5 rustic log cabins on the hillside (we stayed in one once). Nice in the summer and the fall colours are wonderful. Winters can be pretty nasty though.

We hiked the Acadia Trail a few years ago. Check out these photos.

I have not seen the Tattoo yet but I imagine it's quite the spectacle.
