Trying to find app to compare music files

Hi,

I have a very large mp3 discography (176 GB) on my laptop and I copied/transferred that music collection to a SD card on one of my phones. When I checked the size of the complete folder I see a difference of size on my Android phone. On my laptop : 176 GB (189,354,368,090 bytes) and on my phone : 176 GB (189,881,011,123.00 bytes). It's not huge difference and I tried manually to find what it is but I think it will probably take me years and that is giving me a headache... I'd like to know if there is any app/program I can use to compare folders-files to find out the differences.

Thanks for your help,

Serge

Don't waste your time. That small difference will be the difference in the length and will just be the difference in the dead space either end most likely. My advice is to find something more useful to worry about.

Hi thanks for your response. Well actually I've checked and there are 27 files and 5 folder missing on my phone so I think it's more than just a dead space difference or anything else...

That doesn't necessarily mean it music missing. You can delete and do it again and run a checksum before and after and it will tell you exactly what's missing. Missing folders and files could just be playlists that your phone may not recognize, again, not actual music.

Hi, thanks for your message. Actually, I used earlier the app Freefilesync and was able to fix everything with Freefilesync. Now I have the same number of folders and files as on my laptop, there is just a tiny difference in bytes size but I don't care of that and it's good enough for me
