Seriously, I have no life.
Now that was funny, for if the Dems should NEVER have let it get as far as it did with Biden. But yes, considering she was an 'also ran' four years ago in her party's primary she made a valiant effort.

Now that is beyond hilarious ! She's toast, even the Dems aren't stupid enough to run her up there again. As for Vance, lets wait and see...........
I don't understand how he was elected, considering the way they hid him during his 2020 campaign.

So watching it unfold last night I see part of why he won. It wasn't really about politics and the Dems underestimated the impact it would have: Inflation. CNN overlayed a map of where inflation hit the middle class the hardest and it was a lot in the closest battleground states - not in the big cities; mostly rural areas. Those people went out to vote because they think Trump will somehow help with that and they are looking for change and they tend to vote red. Trump won't help with that, HE was the one who sent the country into that downward spiral in the first place. Yeah, Biden sort of kept it flat, not really improved, but that's what happens when you're handed a dumpster fire.

Dems got lazy again, thinking it couldn't happen. One party is too dumb to realize they're being lied to and the other is too dumb to do something about it.

Clearly the 'braintrust' of the Dem Party needs re-tooling ...........
Yeah, perhaps they should take some pages from the Republican playbook to sink to their current level. Your democracy will be worse off, though.

gotcha, but don't think for one minute that the border situation didn't play into it as well. Your last sentence speaks volumes, I'm already thinking 4 years down the road.........

Yes the border has something to do with it, but that was mostly fearmongering. People buy it, sure. It is one thing to have a negative campaign and an entirely different thing to flat out lie.

Not really, and you can be sure that Democrats will consider this very seriously. I hope they don’t travel that authoritarian path.

It doesn't help that a significant portion of the population that voted in 2020, did not vote in 2024.

Voter apathy is a massive problem.

Understood and I hope they don't continue to foster the Left Coast 'progressive' path as well. Both parties need to understand the meaning of 'middle ground' ............

One person didn't send the country into a spiral, COVID and how it was handled did that. Also, government spending rose 14% this year and that influences the value of the dollar.

America is still the land of opportunity even if it is also the land of opportunists. If you are going to let the latest cast of characters in Washington ruin your day, maybe you aren't cut out for this stuff. There is no profit in Utopia. Nothing against Utopia, but this is America, where pitting one side against the other equals big money. So, it's left vs right, north vs south, east vs west, young vs old, male vs female, black vs white, gay vs straight, android vs iOS, Playstation vs XBOX, Ford vs Chevy... Just think how much more money Americans would have in their pockets if they stopped buying into all of that crap. Don't hold out hope for the whores of either party. They've taken the money and are doing exactly what they are paid to do.

To me this is not about finding a middle ground when one party is walking down an authoritarian path electing a fascist leader along with a legion of lipstickles and sycophants in Congress to do his bidding.

This does mean I think that GOP on the whole is authoritarian/fascist though a big minority clearly is.

The “butt hurt” is in anticipation of the real pain to come, both for so many Americans and around the world.

Ukraine is now on the chopping block were Putin is, going by Trump/MAGA actions/statements, will be rewarded to keep at least some of the land he has gained in his brutal invasion. And Trump embracing Putin and other dictators while denigrating close allies while seriously undermining NATO. So USA can risk being seen as unreliable.

Then there’s the moronic tariffs on all imports to USA. You can guess how that will work out.

OK, Trump is an asshole but how do you think Harris would handle the most difficult problems and situations around the world? Biden clearly didn't handle things well and his being ushered off to get ice cream doesn't show the US in a good light, so other leaders have done whatever they wanted- I doubt she would be able to get them to change their ways. Putin, Kim, Iran/Hamas/Hezbollah/Venezuela, etc are beyond her abilities and experience.
You've mentioned this before and I still don't understand why you think Trump did/will do a better job dealing with troublesome foreign leaders. He has already shown that he's a fan of despots. And, he's especially chummy with Putin. Zelensky must be sweating bullets now, waiting for Ukraine to be thrown under the bus. Which reminds me - I doubt she would try to extort a false accusation from a foreign leader against a domestic opponent. I don't know how she could do worse.

Trump would do a better job because he said so. The facts fully support that (obvious sarcasm)
