hard to do a standing job when I got a bad back injury from helping my uncle clean drains during the pandemic but i somehow get blamed like I quit … even the low pay petshop requires heavy lifting so rule that out and standing all day I will end up in a wheelchair unable to walk . Eventually…

how is it possible to work anywere if you can’t sleep early enough? No way do I have the skills or money to own my own business:.:: and I got no idea what Cisco is but I got enough debt and no pc … so while it’s a high paying job those peoples suggestions were no help. I could keep applying for phantom jobs that don’t exist .. but indeed and multiple other sites dont work . I’m not making any money not working Infact debt keeps getting bigger .
You are unwilling to do one damn thing to change your situation.

you’ve been saying that for a long time now my guy

why not get somebody to help you out and move down where you can put it to good use rather than have it be unused

it’s time being wasted not using it that you can’t get back

Been too long aparently you need to be an athlete to get care fast enough. With docs on speed dial.
Plus an elliptical no one uses is taking up a space for it. Although it can be raised ."

The real kicker is you know very little on the subject you are obsessed with....90 percent of your posts are "When I get a job. I'm going to buy nice stuff"

When you get a job (ain't happening) You need to support yourself.
The Bridge Beckons.

Just wait until you get old and want your Social Security.....You aint gonna have any.

Not just between me and him....he's been on here and on AVS for years telling everyone his issues with employment, insomnia, yada yada, and been given many lectures here and there by many posters.
He was gone for about 6 months and now came back....I guess it's not because he's working or his parents threw him out finally.

I even made sound job suggestions to him before I knew better.

Well, seems like a rather long personal history on this subject. I won’t get in the middle.

I’ve been fortunate working as a full time hospital pharmacist for 28 years now. But I don’t want to judge anyone.

My sister-in-law graduated with a Business degree from The Oklahoma State University and she still has never worked a single day in her life. Four years of college at OSU all paid by her parents. I want to judge her, but I won’t judge her either.

I seem to recall I posted job and career suggestions in response to one of his posts. His response made it clear he’s unwilling to do one damn thing to change his situation. I concluded he just wants attention, he’s not interested in actually doing anything
So is the current rate of unemployment good?

Unless the “current” rate is incorrect.

I'm not an economist so I can't say if the current unemployment rate is going to be good or bad for the economy in the long run. I can only say that's the approximate unemployment rate the textbooks say is good to allow for growth vs having stagnation. From that aspect it does make sense. I'll let the economists (politicians, especially those running for office will always say it's bad) argue if the current numbers are good or not. Holistically it's not rocket science.

As others have pointed out it's hard to say how realistic these numbers are.

BTW, I'm not saying I want people to be unemployed, quite the contrary actually. So please don't read between the lines.

Anyway, Streamers. What's up with that?;)
I have zero use for one myself....all my music is on hard drive.

I did try Tidal once for a few hours and thought it sounded bland...not to mention having to look for something I wanted to hear.
Having to use the internet as a music source seems boneheaded to me.

I agree with @AcuDefTechGuy (maybe from another streamer thread) that I don't understand the point of these high end streamers? Most looking at these already have a quality AVR/Receiver/Pre that can decode digital signals. Why would they need anything more than something like the Wiim Pro?

A pricier streamer may have a good DAC and a sub pre out. So, a device of that sort might be connected to an older unit with multichannel analog inputs. Maybe the pricey streamer has a great app or is great looking but it isn't going to send a digital signal using a digital connection to a system that is better than the signal from an inexpensive streamer. But, some aren't concerned with the Law of Diminishing Returns.

Some with lots of physical media can certainly digitize it and some buy digital files. For those with little physical media and limited budget for any media, digital or otherwise, lossless streaming subscriptions using an inexpensive streamer works for them without any real loss of quality compared to anything else. Results will vary of course concerning equipment and connections.

Did you eventually decide on a streamer for your (excellent) 2 channel system? FYI I was hesitant to purchase a streamer for years since I knew nothing about them. When I bought the WIMM Pro Plus I just downloaded the app to my phone, connected it to my 2-channel receiver with RCA cables, then did a search with my Android phone to connect. Finally did a search on Amazon Music since I have Prime and started selecting playlists or artists. Way easier than I thought it would be.
Hi David, as CCP mentioned I've been 'off the air' for a couple of weeks, be-bopping around Switzerland, incredible country ! Anyways I'll be re-focusing shortly on my streaming scheme and hopefully decide something in the coming weeks........

Yeah wish I could afford fancy stuff too but I’m not wasting it on useless gear that doesn’t improve sound quality when I finally can. Still no luck with job search sites I think most of it is spam and stuff I can’t do . Gotta find something before my avr dies .
Have you Considered a driving job? There's this Company called "People Haulers" they pay good just need a clean driving record and a chauffeur's license which is easy to get, I have one test isn't hard at all. Also there are driving Jobs in the medical industry such as lab works.

Hardly any lifting for those, Usually drug samples to and from where collected. Also the pharmaceutical industry has driving jobs. My youngest Son just got a driving job in the pharmaceutical industry, all he does is drive, has a little minivan goes from place to place like Walgreen C V S delivering Bulk prescription medications to the Pharmacies. He is disable and he is only 37 years old. He doesn't really have to work, but he chooses to at that age I would want to have something to do myself.

3 leads to Definitely check up on.

Also, How about a security guard? Some you Don't even have to stand, there's security guards they sit down in a shack all night watching their little TV or listening to their radio, go check every hour or so. Make rounds come back sit down. Also Security guards at casinos in the cash cage them girls just sit there and there are some guys too, all they do is take your money or give money for winnings that's it. Go get that money!

Won't post anymore on the "looking for work thing" Don't want to derail the thread.

@Trebdp83 yeah! Streamers what up with that? I agreed. I mean one can buy a Ruko 4K stick for 30 bucks I have one. Looks and sounds good to me. Why spend over 100 bucks for a stand alone streamer boggles my mind. My AVR streams, net radio 1000s of music channels and a whole bunch of other apps in it, built in. Enough for me I have no interest for add on streamer just for music though. I think it's a waste of money mostly I guess. But then with the Generation Z they may want to just have a streaming device for music only. But wait, don't they, generation X,Y,Z mostly use ear buds and a cell phone for their
music to pair with those lil Bose, Bluetooth speakers or sound bars? Don't Laugh guys, I've actually seen this more than once with them young Whipper Snappers.:)

Bits are bits. No matter if you use an expensive streamer or a cheap streaming stick.
Here's one relevant article:
Hit the nail on the head! Great answer, just found your post. That's what I get from not reading the thread from the beginning or I wouldn't have posted my long comment in my other post.

Nice! Happy you had a great time. I just got back from a much more modest trip to DFW from Florida to visit my sister. Never been to Europe but I plan to visit Wales where my mom's Grandparents came from to the US in the 1890s.

@AcuDefTechGuy, Your Sister in law, on your wife's side of your family right? She's the one that you told me that when she's over for family gathering, she thinks she's the boss of everybody? You had sent me a photo of all you guys having a big family dinner gathering, she was the only one standing pointing her finger like she was telling everyone, Listen to me I'm the boss! you had me rolling Andrew.

Aside from the display, it also has a better DAC and it doesn't cost all that much more than the Pro Plus. Heck, if I didn't already have the Pro Plus, I would buy this Streamer myself. :)

I am getting an Eversolo DMP-A6 this weekend. A good friend bought it and it is way more than he needs. He is picking up another WiiM Pro. This will replace my SMSL dac and raspberry pi streamer. I know it is way overkill but I want it for the balanced outs, screen setup and it's Roon Ready.
