How do you get MAME emulator to work?

What website should I go to for downloading an emulator for arcade games? I know they are called MAME but not sure which one to download. I want to be able to download any arcade games of the past.

Now you will have to do a Google for "MAME ROMs" for the actual games because it's a legal gray area and I wont post any sites here. But there are plenty.

Are you looking for MAME only, or classic console gaming too?

The RPi is a very popular choice for a fairly wide range of emulation. Of course, your PC can do it too.

MAME Dev Team This is the official website of the MAME project and the best place to download the latest version of the emulator. The site also has a wiki containing information on how to use MAME and how to troubleshoot problems.
