So does the vintage setup have a phono preamp? That looks like a MM black cart.

So does the vintage setup have a phono preamp? That looks like a MM black cart.

The preamp is a Yamaha CX-630 with a phono input that is switchable between MM and MC. The cartridge on the Oracle is an Ortofon Black which is a MM cartirdge.

I should post here now & then.

OK, so this was a few minutes ago. The record is Mount Moriah, who is H.C. McEntire and Jenks Miller. It's on the Merge Records label from about 2011. It may be the only record they put out as Mount Moriah, unless they felt like doing it again. Very laid-back folk-rock-pop kind of vibe to it with great lyrics and female vocals from H.C. McEntire. I have a couple other solo albums of hers and like 'em.

Love the simplicity of my setup, and trust me when I say it sounds even cleaner than it looks. Come on over, you folks who are local to me.
