Looking for on wall surrounds

I think on wall surround speakers will make the most sense with my room and layout. Thinking of Focals but open to suggestions. Just renting so nothing permanent.

Focals only come in black but Revel S216 or Dali Oberon look good too. The Dali’s have a nice wood surround that would match the home nicely, I’m guessing performance would be passable on any of the three.

Well fwiw pretty much any bookshelf speaker can be mounted on a wall. What are the LCR?

There’s not much room next to the couch so bookshelves won’t work. L/R are Dynaudio Contour 20’s but I also have a pair of Focal 807V’s. Keeping an eye out for a matching center for either. The only Dyn’s I’ve found in the same color are in different countries. Thinking about a Focal Aria, color and voicing would probably match well enough and it looks like the Aria’s are on sale now. The 807V’s are gorgeous in person

Is regular bookshelves wall mounted at 120 degrees really difficult?
I'm suggesting 120 degrees to allow walking space.

The right speaker would be in my door… but I haven’t set them up on stands to really check. Let me do that just to see. I’ll post photos shortly.

Well it’s not as bad as I thought it would be. I may move the couch forward a little and I need to get an area rug. The door could possibly hit the speaker, I’ll stop by a hardware store and get hinge stopper.

How do they fare performance wise? I’ve never heard anything bad about dyns, and iirc those focals review very well too. Hell, I might buy more of the focals just to look at lol

Honestly, I don’t even know how they sound. I picked them up on a whim a few months ago when I was between places. Just moved into this house so I should probably hook them up and find out.

The Dyn’s are fantastic, had the special 40s previously and as awesome as they sounded there were also a lot of problems with them. The contour line is much more balanced, deviating a little from Dynaudio‘s typical house sound although it is still a bit forward and I would describe them as aggressive.

My foray back into hifi started with a secondhand pair of Focal Chorus 706’s which lacked any bass but disappeared into the room and image spectacularly. The Chorus V’s are huge in comparison and are supposed to have a ton of mid bass.

That looks great!
I'll agree definitely try out moving forward.

If it's a 65 inch you can go up to 5 feet swat for immersive viewing.

It’s a 75” TV so I can’t get much closer but I can get the surround’s slightly behind the seating position. Hopefully I get time today to get some speaker wire and get them hooked up.

Up to 6 feet viewing distance for that size you can go. 48.8 viewing angle.
10 feet for 30.5 degree viewing angle.

Major difference between the two.
