Hi and thank you for having me .
So, I'm a big fan of Castle Acoustics speakers and today I bought myself another pair ( Castle Stirling 3's and Castle Severn 2's ) the severns being the ones I bought today .
I also love messing about with stuff I should probably leave alone , and this got me thinking , would and could anything be gained by merging the two together eg. putting the larger mid/bass driver of the severns into the stirlings , replacing one of the smaller mid/bass units , the top one or the bottom one ? or putting the smaller drivers of the stirlings into the severns , making them a 3 way and upgrading or remaking the crossovers , or any other way that of merging them that would be an improvement ?
OK, so at the moment i'm just messing around with ideas , and am open to any serious ideas you may have , but , I'm serious about trying out any solid ideas that might arise and will document the entire process right here .
To give you something to work with the main thing I would like to improve is bottom end , dont get annoyed with me if this sounds stupid to you as I have no idea what would be involved in this or if it is even possible .
I am a joiner , I love hifi and music and I understand quite a lot about hifi and sound , but , I know pish about design and electronics .
Thankyou in advance for any input , even if it is just to tell me I'm a fool.

Not a goog idea. The box and crossovers are designed for the individual speakers.

If you don't want to totally ruin a couple of pairs of good speakers leave well alone. Your post is just crazy talk, with you spouting from the wrong end of your alimentary tract.
The box speakers are put in has to be calculated from the Thiele/Small parameters of the drivers. The crossover has to be designed specifically to the drivers, from their electrical parameters and acoustic responses. So you can forget that Malarkey, and may be that is even too kind a word for it.
