Atmos Ceiling Speaker(enclosures)

I have never used the box enclosures for my 2 Ceiling speakers and wondered thoughts good or bad on using them. Being that they are effect speakers and i am not concerned with other rooms in the house hearing the sound travel in the attic, should a box enclosure still be used? What do i gain?

In the video linked below, this guy argues that manufacturers are planning for a typical wall when they design in-wall speakers, and yet I've seen other videos of people building their own MDF box inside the wall to make the speakers sound better. I'm starting to think this guy is right though...

I guess my biggest concern was all the blown in Insulation getting into the speaker components, i like what they did in another video by the guy in the link you provided by just taking a regular piece of insulation and putting it in the hole around the speaker to keep the blown in stuff away from it.

yeah, I would want to keep dust away. I think I mentioned it in the other thread, there are manufacturers who make foam back boxes that are effectively just covers.

yeah, thats all i really need...Just need ones that fit a 8" speaker
