Denon AVR 3312 ci analog inputs

Is the phono input on an AVR any different than the other analog inputs? IE: CD, SAT/CBL, DOCK etc..
 
Yes, the phono input will be for lower input levels and will apply the RIAA eq necessary for vinyl (but is usually just for moving magnet cartridges).

OK, I have a Otofon X3-MC cartridge, so no need to pull out the AVR and connect to the phono input. I have an EMOTIVA XPS-1 preamp feeding the Dock analog input.
