Denon AVR X3800 HDMI Behavior

I installed this unit today and found unfortunate HDMI behavior when using the Main ARC HDMI output with a 4K TV ,(LG OLED C2) and the Zone 2 HDMI output with a 1080P TV.

If you try to share a device like an Apple TV between the zones it does not work. You can not run two different resolution TVs on these zones. It's like the receiver gets confused and the HDMI connection gets flaky, coming in and out, or going blank. 4K HDR becomes unreliable when two different resolution TV's are connected.

Once I removed zone 2 TV everything worked on main zone as expected.

I was just reviewing a manual for a Denon the other day with the two hdmi zones, and believe saw some warnings/limitations....so I did a little search and see this https://support.denon.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/109/~/using-the-hdmi-zone-2-output but didn't check your manual particularly....

That is a classic EDID conflict and will occur when you try feed two TVs at once. Resolving EDID conflicts is difficult.

Monitor 2 and Zone 2 output will be limited to the lesser TV’s capabilities. Connect an older TV with older HDMI and HDCP specs and expect even more problems.

It will be more than the receiver can handle to send 4K HDR HDCP 2.2/2.3 signals to the Main Zone TV and also send 1080p HDCP 1.4 signals to an older Zone 2 TV.

Even with matching TVs, source audio must be sent out in PCM 2.0 and the source device must be connected to an HDMI port from 1- 4.

After making various settings in the Apple TV, receiver and TVs, one might have success with output to both TVs but it may be a tough code to crack.
