Speakers : Focal Electra 926 Upgrade thinking options For Stereo : 1. Upgrade to Focal Sopra 2 2. Adding a McIntosh Pre (?) to the present system 3. Leave as it is as the MX123 can play in Stereo mode also .... Thanks.

Moving up to the Sopra's will give you more bass punch and the tonality should be similar to what you already have since it's the same brand. Reactions: Rony

I can't recommend speakers I have never heard but I'm sure you can find something suitable to replace the speakers that aren't working for you. Reactions: Rony

If you are talking about the Sopra No.3, then definitely and absolutely! The Electra 926 is good but you can't compare the 926 with any Sopra speakers!!! The Supra No.3 is listed for >>$20,000 per pair (and presumably nice sounding if they sound similar to the models I heard years ago), they deserve your very nice preamp/pro/power amps. The Sopra 3 isn't easy to drive but you MC255 should be capable of driving it unless you listen really loud and/or sit really far. Reactions: Rony
