Is it just for 2chs or will you bee adding a subs and more speakers? What sources will need to be connected to the system? How far away from the speakers will you be most of the time? I'm assuming budget isn't large based on the cost of the speakers mentioned?

Hi EverettT,
Yes, just the 2 speakers as to what sources probably a CD player and maybe Bluetooth media and that’s about it. Is the speakers too much or will not produce good quality sound. You may suggest a good quality ( I’m on a budget for this project of mine) amplifier if you may.
Thanx for your assistance

The Polk T15s are not, um, perfect speakers. If you use them correctly, they don't sound terrible, but you need to understand how to use them optimally. Any amp will work to power them fine. Definitely don't spend a lot. what is your budget? How much are you planning on spending in total on both speakers and amp? There may be better choices for the same price.

Hi shadyJ,
Thanx for your insight on the matter. I don’t really plan to way over board on a budget I would say $300 wil be sufficient I guess? Friend mention to me about this mini amplifier (Così Audio) never heard of it. Is it any good?

You can get some the like this Fosi Audio intergrated. Their products measure pretty for their "budget" category.

Another option would be powered speakers and a PreAml/DAC. In your price range would be speakers like these Kali Audio and this Digital PreAmp/DAC and those get you in your $600 range. Both of those review well.

In that budget, I would absolutely jump on the Dayton MK442T sale right now: Dayton MK442T. You won't beat that for a passive loudspeaker in your budget. Review. It is worlds better than the Polk T15. Trust me, I have a lot of experience with both. Pair that with a Dayton DTA-2.1BT2 or an SMSL SA-98E, and you are in around $300 for a very fine sound system.

Don't forget to check out a couple local Goodwill thrift stores as well. Shady gave you some solid advice on speakers.

Maybe I misunderstood the budget, is it $600 or $300?

Interesting. I built my subwoofer around a Dayton 15" subwoofer driver and is sounds as good as what the manufacturers provide. I've several people praise the tight bass the unit generates. But of course, a lot of that is in the enclosure as we all know.
