Walgreens replaces clear refrigeration doors with screens

The screens are supposed to show contents in addition to, you guessed it, AD's.

I can not wait for this to get hacked and porn streamed to them. It'll happen.

Pretty darn stupid if you ask me. As you look at the door it shows all of the products and when you open the door, the product is missing, vacant. Darn silly if you ask me. What's next , these stores will be recording your presence and these doors will be talking to you about their and your selections.

Just like those silly smart refrigerators for the home that have a screen just like these to look into your fridge.

Personally wouldn't shop at Walgreens unless there was no other choice otoh.

My wife used to work for them before Covid for over ten years - they bought the independent pharmacy she used to work at and closed it. The stories I've heard about their management and Human resources would make you want to run for the hills. Not a single stupid, shortsighted, or straight-up evil thing they would do could surprise me.

e-Ink ads were supposed to have already been here too. They can display on translucent screens so you can still see what is inside. I have never actually seen one in a store though.
