Why do audio companies have such stupid names

Oh c'mon. No one brought up Schiit..? Lol

"That definitely sounds like Schiit"
"Typical Schiit performance"
"I just love Schiit gear"
"This is exactly the type of sound that Schiit gear reproduces"
Typical schiit reply to a serious manner.
We need to take this schiit hobby more seriously
I am getting tired of this schiit.
I am not even sure I'm spelling this schiit correctly

Hard to do brand names internationally to an extent....just look at all the weird brand names Amazon has for the knockoffs!

Yes it is.

You don't seem to know much about the French language. French is my mother tongue.
mmm, my phonetic writing is off. I guarnatee it's not pronounced correctly here in the states

Wouldn't that depend who particularly is pronouncing it here in the states?
Yes. I'm thinking of that youtuber guy and sales people here. They exaggerate it incorrectly which makes it laughable

I always like it when youtubers say Arendal (sound) from Norway, they are never close but pronunciation varies a lot in Norway also depending on the speakers dialect.

Seriously, I have no life.
I think "Aventage" is simply a marketing concept to distinguish Yamaha's "high end" components from the rest of their line. Sort of like "Technics" was supposed to be a high end Panasonic.
It is. IT comes with a longer warranty, has different circuitry and an extra foot on the bottom, to reduce internal vibrations. Seriously.

Very reliable, though.

While I don't care much about this as a concept, companies call themselves whatever they heck they want...

It does surprise me sometimes when names aren't pronounced the way that I thought they were.

Oppo = OH-POH - Not a soft 'o' at the beginning, like ah-poh, but a hard one. Found this out when I called them directly once.

I also thought Emotiva was emote-iva, turns out it is emo-teeva. YouTube ads from them let me know that one.

Still, everyone I know calls Oppo... ah-poh. So, I guess the owners must be wrong. :D

Audio companies need to have 3 letter words that isn’t KILLED IN ACTION or Missing in Action, Dead on Arrival, End of Life, Against Medical Advice, etc. :D

Something like RBH, KEF, ATI, NHT, PMC, PSB, ATC, NAD, VTI, etc. :D
NHT stands for Now Hear This - honestly kind of lame if you ask me (not their speakers quality but the name)

KEF - is Kent Engineering and Foundry.
ATI - Amplifier Technologies Inc
PMC - Professional Monitor Company
PSB - Paul and Sue Barton
ATC - Acoustic Transducer Company
NAD - New Acoustic Dimension
VTI - Virgo Taurus Industries (?)
