Two subwoofers, sound only comes from one.

Recently got a second HSU VTH-15H MK2, hooked it up, and no sound.

I swapped cables with the working sub, made the new sub sub1, turned to max volume, double checked the receiver, changed outlets, swapped power cables, still nothing, no sound at all.

Is there something I could be missing? Or is it safe to assume the amp is broken on the new sub?

Sounds like you've covered it to me....I'd definitely be on the phone with Hsu about it....

Dang, I'll have to give them a call tomorrow.

In the meantime, I wonder if I can use my behringer in the meantime to power it, I kind of want to watch something with the dual subs tonight! I was really looking forward to it

I'd just contact Hsu, maybe if it wasn't under warranty I might substitute amp but then the dsp options wouldn't be the same either.

Did you run a calibration? Are both subs counted on in the settings? Which avr are you using?

I bought it used, so not under warranty (I don't think, waiting on the seller to respond).

And Pogre, yes I did all that, I'm using a Denon 4400H, I found it not working while trying to calibrate.

Okay. Just double checking. Sometimes it's the simple stuff. Yeah, sounds like it might be the sub. Didn't realize it was used. Did it ever work for you or is this the first time you tried hooking it up?

Nope it's never worked, been trying things left and right thinking it was me.

I do have a Behringer NX6000D, I wonder if that can power it in the meantime

It's a powered sub, right? You'd have to unhook its amp to use the Behringer. I'm sure there's some factory dsp for it too. I don't think it's as simple as a straight amp swap.

Maybe if you can't get a refund....I wouldn't mess with that for now at least. Later maybe if you get satisfaction from the seller and don't want to buy a replacement amp from Hsu....

Especially for multiple curves to replicate the port options.

Yeah that's right. EQ 1 and EQ 2 are two different curves. EQ 1 is only s'posed to be used with one or both ports plugged or it could damage.

The first thing to do is make sure a spade connector did not come off the driver. This is common after shipping.

DSP is not an issue for the ported options. You can not effectively Eq a ported alignment. So if the amp should prove to be blown, you can use your Behringer amp if you want. You will need to connect it directly to the driver.

So just how do the port options on the sub's amp work in terms of the amp if not dsp/eq?

The whole idea of making a sub with these options is BOGUS. That is a ported sub. If you close the ports, then the Eq has some benefit. However you have a sealed sub with the wrong sized box.

When I look at those curves, the optimal alignment for that sub is clearly two ports open, with the 0.7 Qts option. The others are all suboptimal alignments.

If he were to connect his Behringer and keep two ports open, then that would be the optimal alignment.

Thanks for the clarification. It does have those features, whether you think they're bogus or not, some like to utilize them so just that the OP knows his options....
