Prices for big acts are high everywhere. Bands used to make good money from record and CD sales, but with the pennies that streaming pays their income comes from live shows and the music is the promotion. Used to be the other way around but I won't bore you with stories of how little I paid for big acts in the 80's.
I'm planning to see Band-Maid in DC this October at the Fillmore. Tickets were only $30 ($25 + fees etc) for general admission, although they had VIP tickets for $100 that give early access and a meet and greet (get a signed post card). Funny how they push for the extras now in some clubs. You could add early access to your ticket to avoid the line and pay for the coat check to "guarantee a spot". You have a better chance of seeing the band up close in a club any way as opposed to a huge arena so I enjoy the setting, even if it means standing for a few hours. Gas prices are going to make the trip an expensive drive but I don't go to that many shows in a year.
