Thank you all for your help. I will visit the well known hifi stores in my country and see what I can buy now with my budget and prioritize an AVP.

All this because I didn't buy it last year when the AVP 7706 dropped to 2200€ because it would just be sitting there waiting for the room to be ready and for the speakers to arrive while thinking to myself how much I will be saving when I buy it later... Damn you past self....In retrospect I didn't really know the end of the world as we know it would come....
If you had ordered it LAST year, you would have gotten it THIS year. :D

I ordered an AV7706 for a client in December, and I didn’t even get it until March.

Yeah. Really. Who the hells saw COVID coming? And then saw the Putin/Russia thingy? What the hells is next? :(

It sounds 100% cliché, but “living for today” sure sounds like a great idea. :D

Hmm, what should I buy next? :D

In November 2019, not one single person thought through this scenario! Just not possible.
Fast forward 2-3 mos... Whole other story.
4mos... March 2020, I was out of work.

Headline yesterday was that an Asteroid "impacted" earth, only discovered 2 hours prior.
"Impacted," because it burned up in the atmosphere. Not to be confused with the Bus-Sized Asteroid passing Earth today.

Short story:
What the hells is next?
Don't Tempt Fate!

Unreal.... Now I see why the seller sounded so sure when he said that noone has any idea how long the AVP would take to arrive after I order it...

What the hells is next?
It's either a meteor or WW3, nothing else is left... o_O At least I want to have my system up and running so I can be happy in my last moments...

I remember it like it was yesterday... We were "laughing" from the comfort of our covid free countries two years ago about the Chinese dude who ate a bat and started an epidemic... two months later we were not laughing... o_O

It didn't take much to get things worked out, but they lost so much in food inventory and business by doing what they did. Never recovered. Sublease one property to another company, close two stores, layoff 100-120 employees.

Oh well. Not my circus anymore.:D

This hasn't been determined.
There was a new review in some publication where they have pretty much concluded that it was wildlife related, and likely narrowed down to a single stall in one of those markets...
This isn't the article I read, but looks like it's the same research...

There were at least three different critters cited as potential vectors of the early outbreaks in the report I read, with the author claiming to have been at that market sometime in the pastand witnessing conditions similar to those photographed and reported as evidence supporting this theory... The author of the article I read also mentioned that poultry was likely a factor as well. I think I saw mention of that in the VOX article linked.

Doesn't sound like it has changed since I last checked then. I do know some guys who still think this was a Wuhan lab thing, orchestrated in true conspiracy theory fashion :)

Honestly I've never cared where it came from other then for that might help researchers deal with it. Even if it did come from a lab no one would ever admit to it. So why bother worrying?

Shrugs

Why think it started in a lab at all? Probably easier to identify if it did, tho. Pretty sure the lab thing has been debunked. Except for the GOP.

Seriously, I have no life.
I think there is a good chance that the electronic supply chain may get very seriously disrupted for a very long time.

Latest intelligence shows that Russia can not sustain its invasion of Ukraine in the face of these draconian sanctions. Russia has approached China for economic aid and weapons. China, has tried to outwardly take a neutral stance. The Biden administration has warned China of severe economic consequences if they give financial or economic aid to Russia. That means that an embargo on Chinese good is now more than an outlier. Chinese manufacturers are halting supplies to Russia fearing sanctions from the western nations. I also suspect they fear they might not get paid!

Now Xi faces a decision that could define the electronics industry for the next generation: create a bipolar tech world with Russia against the West, or leave Moscow isolated. So now Xi is likely to find he is between a rock and a hard place.

If he decides to throw his lot in with Russia, then many goods, and certainly home electronics gear, will be scarce for years to come.

Perlisten may soon rue their decision to locate their factory in China. I have thought all along that was a very bad decision, and now stands a good chance of assigning them to the ash bin of history, when the are just emerging from the starting gate.

I think the next week or so will be pivotal for the future of the electronics industry and others

If there is bifurcation between Russia/China, and the US/Western Europe, then availability of manufactured goods will be disrupted for a long time.

History tells us that wars bring about changes of alignments between nations that have long term trade and consequences for their populations.

We have a war on a continent that is a major industrial, agricultural and cultural power house. There is also significant possibility that the starting gun for WW III has already be fired.

Today Russian missiles reached within 15 miles of the Polish border.

Today Russia has been warned that any explosive or harmful devices landing in NATO territory will trigger article 5 to be invoked. So we could easily be at war at a moments notice.

The situation is no longer tenable as Europe now has more refugees than it can accommodate, and the UN are concerned that they can not be accommodated even world wide in time.

Just when we thought we were done with Covid repercussions...now we're back to the crazy dictator thing (altho we almost had our own version here in the US).

Interesting article. After reading this was wondering if the US government study commissioned by Biden is close to issuing a final report yet,.

Have always had a hard time trusting studies based on data from Chinese "official" cases. There are over 30,000 wet markets in China with similar stocks of animals but this one was a few blocks from the Wuhan Institute conducting tests. Don't think we will ever know.
