So + 12db on the PEQ @ 20hz? And is this where I change it to -12db?

And do I want my output gain set at -3db or -30db so the mini dsp doesn't clip? Do I want the mini dsp not to hit 0 or stay out of the red? I had mine set to 0 and none of my subs ever bottomed out or anything...

What do you mean by that? Where did you see +12 dB 20 Hz?
There's a whole other conversation in the Dev Index thread at AVS that is background to this.

Cam, You should link up some of that background so you can get proper input from some of the folk here that know more about the MiniDSPs. ;)

Jason from GSG told me this:
⦁ This is the “formula” from the GSG site...

Protective High Filter: 12dB / octave Butterworth @17-20 Hz
Parametric EQ: Freq=20Hz, Q=0.7, Gain=+12dB (will help balance the response from this mid-bass monster).
Overall Level Adjustment: Gain= -12dB
Phase: 180 deg (NX and iNuke amps)
So as you can see, the 'overall gain structure' is set at -12db with a PEQ 20hz boost bringing you to '0' & not the +12db hot you're thinking.
