I can't think of a single incident where a cop opened fire in a restaurant. Maybe people should stop assuming all cops are bad cops.

Cops I would say generally know not to open fire in a crowd. In my CCW training, they stress this as well as well as the fact that "You are not a LEO, you are a citizen." If you shoot someone other than your intended target, you go to jail. Even if you hit only your intended target, you will be arrested pending investigation.

With the "no shirt, no shoes", we saw something similar when Target came out with their "No Firearms" policy. They can ASK, but since they are not LEO, they cannot LEGALLY enforce it. Their security can escort you, but if you refuse (for whatever reason, most people I expect would comply), their only option is to call the police to truly enforce that trespass/policy violation. They backpedaled that within days. This is the same as with shoplifters, they are limited in what actions they can take.

I don't disagree, but I'm just taking this one article about one person refusing service to a few officers. I'm sure plenty in that town agree, but not EVERYONE.

I just get annoyed when articles/people paint with too wide a brush. Where I live, people have vastly different mindsets depending on the topic. Our local cops are fine. Nobody has an issue with them. I've lived in other places in TX where the locals hate the cops, so I've lived through both attitudes. However, that doesn't mean I can't find multiple people in both places that completely disagree with what "most" people think.

The fight actually made its way into our store and in that case, a guy & woman were filling duffle bags with clothes while another woman became more and more pregnant, the longer she was in the store. They were arrested and in court the next day, he said he wanted a jury trial. The prosecutor held up his rap sheet printout and it went from his outstretched hand to the floor- he asked "Really?" and the guy said "Well, maybe not". The guy put up a tremendous fight and only said "OW" when his head hit the wooden frame around the window of our store. Turns out, he had injected Cocaine, so he didn't seem to be feeling much, if any pain.

I've seen that too, first hand. I was at Frys (RIP) where shoplifting was pretty common. They waited until the guy hit the door and then 4 large security guards then chased him down in the parking lot and brought him back. Was pretty crazy.

This is a cause & effect situation- if the police didn't need better protection, they wouldn't requisition it and the Federal government wouldn't necessarily want to give it out but IMO, it's better than leaving a billion dollars of military hardware in a hostile part of the world.

As far as chemical weapons, do you know anyone who carries Bear spray, Mace, pepper spray, or anything like that? Tear gas is an effective way to disperse a crowd or get someone outside of a building without shooting them but yeah, don't bother blaming the ones who are holed up after a crime spree.

If people were more peaceful, nobody would be talking about this stuff.
