Supercube 4000 vs DN10

The only matching you should do is between the Mains and Center, and possibly Surrounds if you want.

Agree with Pogre: good quality Bass, clean, linear and free from distortions is a surprising thing. It is both powerful and subtle. Some people think their Sub isn’t working right because they suddenly don’t hear the distortion in the sound the way they are used too.
That is an important distinction. When most people complain about Subs, it is the rattles and other weird sounds that bother people. While you will still make sh!t rattle with a very good Sub, it’s different and usually happens at much lower frequencies in my experience.
I had no idea that's how it works when it comes to bass. My sub sounded disrupted up until recently. But this is good to know.

For what it's worth, I came to this forum with essentially the same question as you: Do I buy another SC4000 and go dual sub or go with something else? Long story short, I went with something else and compared to the SC4000 it blew my socks off.

So just curious, your name, "Project SOG". Is SOG an acronym for "Sea Of Green"? If so it's one that I'm quite familiar with and gives us something more in common aside from an interest in audio. ;)
Hahaha... No it's for Son of God but that's a good guess! Btw, thank you for helping.

Oh wow that's good to know. Which one was the one that blew your socks off?

We have something in common, but I can’t really talk about it. ;)

How does the PB1000 pros compare to the supercube 4000? Just asking so I can get a general idea on performance.

Well, first it was an old sealed 12" car audio sub that I threw into service as a home theater sub which blew away the SC4000. That was just a stepping stone until I could afford and build my current sub, a sealed Ultimax 18". Now I have true extension down to 16 Hz.

I’ve got two Pb-1000 pros in my rig they have raised the prices but to me still a very good sub . They shake stuff in my room and for the bucks play way down below 20 to stuff you feel and not hear . Now everybody here is going to say go bigger and there’s no way you’ll regret that decision at all If you do . But these do put out the bass for the bucks .
Now with the price increase I can’t say there the best for size , wattage and value but they are impressive setup right . The fellas on here will not steer ya wrong on subs .

It’s also very close to the Black Friday sales and Outlaw and Monoprice Monolith subs usually go on sale an ar excellent alternatives. You can’t really go wrong with any choice.

Right now Monoprice has their Monolith version 1 12" subs on sale for $699. A better sub than the PB1KPro in pretty much every way, other than customer support.

I didn't know about this one. This thing looks like a beeeeast! Do you think dual subs of this one in a 20x13 are too much?

Absolutely NOT!
I run dual SVS PC2k Pros in a similarly sized room (18' x 15').
It is clear, clean, articulate, precise . . . not over powering in any way. Aka sonic bass bliss

The only thing is that the specs of the supercube look better than the DN 10's, unless I'm missing something?
The salient question is, how does the current SC4000 sound to YOUR EARS compared to all the other subs you've heard?

If it sounds GREAT and the used/pre-owned SC4000 costs A LOT LESS than all the other options, plus you prefer to keep/match the same brand, then I think it's a good idea to get the least expensive option.

That's a very good point and I thought about that to save some money. The only thing is that the supecube 4000 has been my only point of reference so I haven't really been exposed to other subs. I'm really new to all this.

It seems like the general consensus is the PB1000 and the monolith. The monolith looks pretty intimidating lol but because of the size I'm not sure if it'll look good in my space.
