IMAX Enhanced coming to Disney+ on Friday

It is not enough to show that, because there are diffrent flavours of DTS:X, like with Dolby Atmos.
Dolby Atmos/DD+ - lossy Atmos (Netflix and others)
Dolby Atmos/DT-HD - lossless Atmos (discs)

DTS-HD High Resolution Audio (7.1) is an optional surround sound format for Blu-ray Disc, with constant bit rates up to 6.0 Mbit/s and 3.0 Mbit/s, respectively. DTS-HD HRA is never used for DTS-X. DTS-X only uses DTS HD MA. Unlike Atmos, DTS-X is always lossless.

It’ll be interesting to see what is used. Metadata can be applied to lossy codecs. Atmos on disc is always TrueHD at is core but is lossy DD+ over streaming. While DTS:X is speculated here and there, it is not mentioned at all regarding Disney+ and Sony Bravia Core by Imax Enhanced. I read of one user of Bravia Core who claimed it was simply lossy DTS. I’ll pick up an A80J this week and check it out. Regardless of the flavour of DTS, those streaming from most devices and new TVs will be pissed as very few support DTS at all.

I don’t think there are any TV’s that support DTS. Do you know of any specific models? I believe the Bravia Core Sony TV’s are the only ones that support DTS (in some form) under the IMAX-E brand. I’m surprised no one has taken the time to show us a screen shot of their receivers audio info to let us know which codec is being used in the Bravia Core app.

I know the new Sony’s support DTS, I meant if you knew of any other brands that do too. I think the new 8K TCLs also do. I know they’re IMAX-E certified but after seeing what Disney+ did with IMAX-E who knows that that certification means now.

Since the LG doesn’t support IMAX-Echanced, I wonder why they would support DTS. There is no DTS content available to stream or on cable. Correct?

You have to remember that many connect their devices to their TVs directly while using older AVRs. Supporting DTS allowed TVs to output the DTS signal via ARC or optical, though only the lossy variety. Many TVs supported it until the 2020 models and Samsung had their DTS Neo 2:5 feature to convert any incoming signal to DTS 5.1. I'm not sure how many manufacturers will feel the need to put it back in because Imax Enhanced Disney+ may be using it soon, though.

I just bought a new samsung tv and im very diseapointed that it doesnt have that feature dts neo 2.5, wich in my f6670 it is.
I tried to look everywhere how to get this feature, as an app or receiver, couldnt find anything..
Really dont know why they took out this feature

I think that means you're not getting DTS-X audio nor HDR10 plus, which is the standard for IMAX Enhanced.
