I Have To Start Remembering Free Trial Signups!

A month or so ago I got a reminder from Audible that I had a bunch of points set to expire if I didn't use them.

What?? I don't use Audible! Well, apparently I paid for it for about a year, lol. I think I signed up for free to check something out and forgot all about it. Anyhoo, I spent my points and stopped the subscription. Fast forward to today and I just now saw a charge from Tidal on my account. I have never even used it! I'm pretty sure I remember signing up for it just to check it out and compare to others I've tried and... I forgot all about it! I'm not sure how many months I paid for, but I never used it, lol. Again!

I've really gotta stop doing that!

There are probably hundreds of thousands of people out there still paying for AOL dial up every month and don't realize it.

This is exactly why they offer the free trials! They make lost of $ from people that simply forget to cancel.

You really need to read your bills thoroughly, going over each charge. Unless, you have money to burn. :D
....found a charge at different parts of the year for something I thought was a simple annual subscription but apparently had been in the vendor's software a bit different...

Okay, I just signed up for 3 free months of Amazon Unlimited and I'm posting here to remind myself when I started it! Which was actually last night so March 2nd is my starting point. So my free trial runs out on June 2nd.

How hard is this, Have your iPhone nearby and say "Hi Siri" pause, then "Add a reminder for June First to cancel my subscription to the amazon unlimited"?

Thats why I never sign up for these because I know my recent short term memory is akin to water flowing through a siv and Im only 60. I cant wait to get older. It should be a real treat.

Right??

From now on every time I sign up for a free trial I'm gonna post the date in this thread, lol.

Whenever I can I subscribe for free trial subscriptions using apple either on my IPhone or Apple TV. That way the “subscriptions” show up under my iPhone “settings” and I can view, stop or delete that subscription at anytime.

However it is also possible to have TWO subscriptions if you are not careful—one started under Apple and one updated by the providing service. This recently happened to me when I started a Qobuz free trial and then later went in and paid for a year in advance before the free trial month was over. Both were active and apple still charged me for the first month after I had switched to yearly straight from Qobuz. Sigh

Calendar reminders for stuff like this are your best friend.

Also, unexpired gift cards with no money on them are great for free trials.
