Denon 1600h impedence

Hi All,
I know this is a very basic question.

We connect speakers with different impedences to AVRs like 1600h, 2700h.
Do we have an option to select the impedence in these AVRs or output is automatically adjusted accordingly.

Thanks in advance for the help...

Some AVRs have impedance switches, but we do not suggest using them. The switch should be left to the highest impedance setting, no matter the nominal impedance of the speaker to be connected.
Here is a link explaining the reason for the recommendation which differs from that of the manufacturers:

Basically, solid state amplifiers don't need impedance selection settings, as their output stage adapts to the various impedance loads presented by a loudspeaker. The impedance of any speaker varies with frequency, and the nominal impedance published by loudspeaker manufacturers is not always accurate.

Thanks a lot!!! One of my friends told me that speakers like emotiva, they have 4ohms impedance and you need to use another amplifier to drive the speakers. Is that correct?

No, but dont go nuts with the volume control.

Im not sure the 1600 and 2700 have pre-outs for external amps anyway. The 3700 do have a full pre-out set.

What are the speakers brand and models that you own?

Can you please eloborate on what you meant by going nuts by volume?

Playing very loud draws a lot more power and if the speakers are hard to drive the AVR may go into protection mode due to heat. Im not saying you have hard to drive speakers, i dont know. But a bit of moderation with the volume is always a good idea both for the equipment and the ears.

I use paradigm SE 3000F towers and SE 2000, SE atom
Those speakers have a high sensitivity and should be easy to drive with your receivers, unless you sit far from them and listen to the music at very high volumes.
