A slight puzzle ...

I have purchaed the Music Hall mmf - 1.5.
After setting it up .. I am puzzled .. as a 78-ring adapter is included in the box .. but .. there is no "hook" to attach it too. I mean .. I am looking for some kind of hook, or hole, where to store it inside of a player, while not in use. I am afraid, I would loose it in a few days ...
Sounds funny .. but ..I understand "Entry level and such .. but for the money paid, I would expect some convenience with it... ::)
Did anyone encounter anything like that ? Or maybe I am not looking right ?

You mean a 45 adapter? Don't remember any 78s that needed one at least....maybe just keep it with your cleaning accessories maybe in a nice little box? My Technics has a recessed area for storing that which is kinda convenient....

Yes .. 45-adapter ... sorry :)

My crappy Jensen JThad a little whole in a plate for it .. I was just surprised this one - such a nice one, and does not have it

At least it came with an adapter? You play 45s much? Maybe just keep it on the spindle...

I just bought this thing just now .. yes, it came with an adapter. No mention of it in the manual.
I don't play 45s .. but ..if there is an option, I would not bypass the record in the used store, just because it is a 45..

I think you mean a 45 RPM adapter. You just place it on the turntable. I have quite a few and I don't think I have ever lost one. 78 RMP records need a 78 RPM cartridge.

78

Usually 45 RPM disc have a punch out center. If you don't punch out that center then those discs fit the standard spindle.

I don't know why they included a 78 RPM speed, as you need a rig like the one above. 78 RPM records require different play back EQ and not the RIAA curve LPs use.

That set up is 60 years old. The preamp is tube and contains the different Eq curves for different 78 RPM record manufacturers.

If you are going to play 78 RMP records, then you need a vintage rig, especially the preamp.

I seldom get rid of anything and I have kept my gear and just added to it as the years have passed.
