Hello music lovers....just wanted to share a recent expierience of mine...up until last week I've always been pretty satisfied with my 1976 Pioneer SA 8500 Amplifier & quality speakers ....I also had a 1989 Luxman R115 that sounded pretty damn good ....but after all these years & also being in the military over seas 1980...was the last time I listened to any Sansui equiptment but have never owned any...this week a friend of mine let me try one of his 1975 Sansui 881 reciever & Yamaha CR800 and the Sansui is the clear winner....Wow!..... there is a difference...the other 2 are super clean too....but this Sansui is just more detailed & dynamic...in my mind I always figured all the older vintage Japanese stuff had to sound about the same...but Sansui ....like Honda & Toyota....we're clearly focused on making a high quality product...it's been cleaned & re capped & sounds amazing!

The 70's...those were the days (years) of the silver frontplate equipment.

In 1975 I bought my first amplifier; Pioneer SA5300. At that time I couldn't afford anything more expensive.
