No! It's irrelevant! Just because tv manufacturers are advertising gaming friendly features has nothing to do with gamers driving the market into ruin!

Are you saying there has been a decline in pq in the last decade "because gamers"? It seems to me that pq steadily increases as science uncovers better tech. Isn't pq better today than it was ten years ago?

Got any more red herrings? Oh, and plasma doesn't count. Those were phased out because of environmental reasons.
No, those are specific publications geared to that hobby and demographic. I was asking you as an avid gamer, do you concur with LG OLED being the best gaming TVs, if not which one is?

Seriously, I have no life.
Your observation is just a bald ass assertion with nothing to support it!

Okay, I'm an avid gamer. Go ahead and ask me.
Go ahead, just spill it, start typing since I cannot hear you. ;) :D

Okay. Gee, I wonder what the publications geared specifically for videophiles would be recommending? Are you seeing how that's irrelevant yet?

As to your question I would have to do more research, but budget notwithstanding, as I've already said in this thread, better performance and pq trumps features so I'd likely go with the Sony based on what little you've said about it. In fact I would prefer NO features if it means better pq and performance.

It's an observation.

Best TV's for gaming- C1 OLED "The best-equipped for PS5 and Xbox Series X "

Best TV for gaming- C-1 OLED

1. LG OLED48CX - 48-inch 4K TV
The best TV for gaming

The best TV for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X

"The best TV for video gaming, and for almost everything else, is the LG CX OLED. On top of delivering a gorgeous 4K image, the CX supports all the HDMI 2.1 features you could want for gaming, including 4K/120 Hz inputs, ALLM, VRR, and HGIG"https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-tv-for-video-games/

So I ask, do you concur?
What is this supposed to prove? That LG makes a TV that both HT enthusiasts AND Gamers want to own?

There's some weird logic being applied by more than a couple of our friends here: I am not singling any one post out!

I want my console(s) (YES MULTIPLE, AS IN THREE PLUGGED IN AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!), AVR/AVP, TV/Monitor, and all peripherals to work seamlessly. In fact, given the opportunity, my BR Player would not have APPS! As for the console... I don't want it to have APPS, either! I don't mind if the TV is web savvy, but take the FCUKING MIC out of it!
I don't need anything watching or listening to me rip a bong or pound a beer every time Luke whines! :)
But seriously...
Anybody that thinks ANY gamer doesn't want SQ or VQ is checked out. PERIOD.

I am a Gamer.
I am a Music Enthusiast. (And trained Musician.)
I am an HT enthusiast. (Yes, little "e" as HT is not my main jam... Music is, with Gaming and HT next.)

Oh! And just for effect:

Remember when the PS3 WAS... the BEST Blu-Ray Player in the Marketplace
I know people that used a PS3 for that purpose SOLELY. A couple of them were cute... bought a game a few years later just to check out what all the fuss was about.
Guess what?
They became casual Console Gamers, too!
With AVRs.
With 7.1 Audio.
And Nice TVs!

:D

So you would prefer superior picture quality over superior gaming features?

I really, really don't look at features. Gaming or otherwise. I look at pq and overall performance. Gaming features are meaningless to me if the picture is crap. If I can get both, then awesome.

I bought my 2018 Sony X900 because it checked almost all the boxes I needed it to, in all categories of usefulness.
It put out less heat, it had good gaming and video features. It was a balancing act of...
The same tradeoffs we weigh in our hobby every time we upgrade!
Just that this included gaming as a variable, too!

It's folks like you who are ruining the industry! :p

I'll bet your pq is also very good. It seems to me like there's plenty to go around for everyone. There are still great tv's out there to be had for either camp. I just think it's really hyperbolic to make claims like "gamers are ruining the industry". If anything they're driving innovation by demanding better products.

We have to keep all that's holy and pure about home theater, we can't let the gamers storm the Capitol.

Claiming a Capitol of HT is just giving people like TD or companies like AQ power over the common folk. Next thing you know, Cyber-Ninja-FcukTard-Q-an-A$$ will be auditing the poll attached to this thread and destroying our democracy and freedom of speech!

The other issue is that if speaker manufactures jumped on the big gaming thing, they may have to start embedding RGB LED lights into everything and then you'd have to have new AVR's that have RGB LED control for sync and everything.

Very best,

It's not all about the audio. I think that part of it really is pretty good. I feel like more focus on the video side, like refresh rates and lag that gamers wanna see. Dump all of the smart features and put the r&d dollars into performance.
Funny thing is, they don't need to. The LG OLED tvs are already the best gaming monitor you can get. No LCD can keep up. They did a great review comparing it and the fastest e-sports monitor and it stomped it into the ground. I was shocked.

It's gone far beyond pimply kids playing Atari, even though a lot of people see it that way.
Only old folks think that. Like, really old.

My parents are both in their 60's and game damn near every day and have ever since I can remember. My mom has multiple custom VR computers to play games on. They aren't the norm obviously, but gaming has been a part of my life since I was born. Most people my age with kids will be able to say the same thing. I didn't know a single person in high school or college that didn't play games in some capacity. EVERY person around my age with kids have gaming PCs and multiple tablets/consoles. It's awesome.
