I’ve run Audyssey once. At the time, I used the cardboard holder. Also, didn’t
like the placement, I used.
Can I run Audyssey again? Do the first
settings, that were established, get
override? Do it have to use 8 placements, for the Microphone.
Appreciate you time

The next time you run it, it will cancel the previous measurements.

It gives you a fresh calibration and wipes out the previous one.

Mic positioning is important tho and you're right to question it. You want the mic pointing straight up, at ear level and follow the pattern closely. No more than 20" from the first measurement and make sure your room is as quiet as possible during calibration. I know this is confusing just starting out. If you have any other questions just ask.

*PS, it's recommended you do all 8. The more info Audyssey has the better.

If you have a tripod or mic boom it's a much better way to go than the cardboard thing. Generally running all 8 positions gives the most information to process, I generally do (I use my MLP for first, then run the rest in a circle around that of about 3-4 ft diameter. Running Audyssey a few times in the beginning, experimenting with mic placement probably gives you slightly different results, too....sometimes even a glitch can cause some out of line results so getting a feel for the right range I think helps. You might also find you simply don't care for it. Then there are settings/changes to be made after running it. Choosing a good quiet time to run it I think helps, too. If you haven't considered using the Audyssey Editor app you should.
