Denon AVR-1612 no video from V.aux

I have connected a DVD player to the V.aux ports on my Denon ARV-1612 and I get audio but no Video to my TV connected via HDMI cable.
I have connected the DVD player directly to another screen that has RCA input connections an it works fine both video and audio.
I have researched this issue and cannot find any answers. Will the Video input connected to the V.aux port on the front pass through to the HDMI output?
Thanks
Doug

Your dvd player only has composite connections? What player is it? Does your avr manual confirm it can output composite input over hdmi? Did you check input assignment?

The DVD player has a standard analog right left audio and video output. The DVD player is made by insignia. I did check the input source on the AVR. I can't find anything that video will pass through to the HDMI port. But on the back of the AVR there are RCA input jacks labeled DVD. I have tried them and the V.AUX ports on the front but that doesn't work either. That is the reason for the post.

I briefly looked at your manual, it does say you can connect such composite connections but if manual input assignment to confirm type of connection doesn't yield output I'd think perhaps the avr doesn't have the ability to output over hdmi the composite input.....but didn't find anything in the manual one way or the other to confirm that.....that manual isn't one of Denon's better efforts, either. Might check batpig for interpretation on this point. I wonder if you need component output for this type of legacy input (most dvd players have hdmi connection IME). Maybe someone with specific 1612 experience can help out!

Unfortunately, the 1612 cannot convert analog signals and output them via HDMI.
